Evidence-based care —
tailored to you.
Lebanon sits at the heart of the Upper Valley — a Dartmouth-adjacent community of professionals, academics, medical workers, and families who tend to ask good questions before they commit to something. Asking what approach your therapist uses is one of the best questions you can ask.
Aligned Associates PLLC offers telehealth therapy for Lebanon-area residents using proven, research-backed methods — CBT, ACT, and narrative therapy — always adapted to the individual rather than applied by rote. Stephanie Kimber, MA, LCMHC, has over 20 years of experience knowing which tools work for which people and which situations, and bringing them together in a way that genuinely fits.
All sessions are via secure video — ideal for Lebanon's busy professional community, with flexible hours that fit around demanding schedules.
Three approaches.
One flexible framework.
Good therapy isn't one-size-fits-all. Stephanie draws on three evidence-based approaches — sometimes using one primarily, sometimes weaving all three together — always based on what you actually need, not what a protocol prescribes.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT focuses on the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. When we identify and reshape unhelpful thought patterns, we change how we feel and how we act. CBT is practical, structured, and one of the most research-supported approaches in the field — particularly effective for anxiety, depression, and intrusive thinking.
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT works differently from CBT — instead of changing difficult thoughts, it helps you change your relationship to them. Through mindfulness and values clarification, ACT teaches you to hold painful thoughts and feelings without being ruled by them, and to move toward what genuinely matters in your life rather than away from what hurts.
Narrative Therapy
Narrative therapy starts from the premise that you are not your problem — the problem is the problem. By examining the stories we tell about ourselves and where they came from, we gain the ability to author new ones. Especially powerful for identity work, family of origin exploration, and building a coherent sense of self after difficult experiences.
Real concerns.
The right tools for each one.
Lebanon-area clients come to Stephanie with a wide range of concerns. What they share in common is a desire to understand what's happening, know that the work is grounded in evidence, and feel confident that their therapist is thoughtfully matching approach to need — not applying a single method to every situation.
Stephanie uses CBT most often for anxiety, depression, and ADHD. ACT tends to be most useful for chronic stress, major life transitions, and difficult emotions that feel overwhelming. Narrative therapy is especially valuable for family of origin work, identity questions, and recovery from narcissistic or high-conflict relationships. In practice, these approaches work together seamlessly — and Stephanie draws on all three as each session calls for.
